Fairtrade Fortnight

7th Mar 2017

We are in our second week of Fairtrade Fortnight, the children of Holy Rosary are supporting Fairtrade by eating a healthy Fairtrade snack every day.  A big thank you to all the adults at home for sourcing these products and showing your support.

In our first week of Fairtrade Fortnight, the boys and girls in the Fairtrade Committee have been working together and have delivered fantastic talks to our Foundation and Key Stage 1 classes.  I know the children enjoyed listening and asking our Fairtrade pupil experts lots of interesting questions. The whole school are on board as some lessons have been focused on Fairtrade and the impact it has on children globally. We also got to taste some Fairtrade products, which we really enjoyed.

Now in week two, we have our Fairtrade poster competition to focus on.  Older pupils will design a Fairtrade mascot for our school. One winner will be picked from each class when all entries are collected by the end of Fairtrade Fortnight.  Good luck!

We are fundraising also this week and ask for your support in our local community.  The Fairtrade Committee are running a Bun Sale, buns will be sold Thursday and Friday (9th &10th March) all money raised will go to the Fairtrade Foundation. We ask you to put you baking skills to the test and make some with Fairtrade ingredients included.  However it is important that there are no traces of nuts.

Thank you,

From the Fairtrade Committee
