Holy Rosary Primary School, Sunnyside Crescent Belfast

Euro School Chhauni, Kathmandu

Our partnership with Euro School has been ongoing for the past 8 years. Our partnership started with a ‘Connecting Classrooms through Global Learning’ project. The Connecting Classrooms project involved a cluster of 20 NI and Nepalese schools working in partnership focusing on UN Sustainable Development Goals, including gender equality, life below water and quality education. Using digital technology, pupils created a virtual classroom to communicate, share work and learn from each other.

Teachers from Euro School visited Holy Rosary and many of the cluster schools across NI in 2019. Teachers from our school visited Euro School in Kathmandu in 2018 and 2020. These visits enabled face to face planning sessions and team teaching lessons within each school.

Our partnership has continued to grow and we regularly connect with Euro School. Our recent projects have focused on well-being and we have even had online lessons delivered by an Irish local artist as well a yoga lessons by a Nepalese yoga teacher. Our current project involves teaching Emotional Literacy to the Primary 4 children at each school. Our P4 teacher Miss Power is leading this project.
