Bredagh GAC visit Holy Rosary

28th Oct 2016

Bredagh GAA club officers, joined by young players, visited Holy Rosary for a special assembly. This was to celebrate the club's success across the spectrum of Gaelic Games in 2016 and to thank the school for their support.

"Holy Rosary's co-operation in promoting the Gaelic games, of hurling and football for boys and camogie and football for girls, is making it possible for the children at the school to participate in sports and to develop their own talents for the present and future", Malcolm McFarlane (Vice Chair) and Anne Costello (Bredagh Schools Committee Chair) jointly said. They also thanked Mr McAllister and Miss Monahan for their active encouragement.

The pupils were treated to talks and demonstrations by:

Hannah Murray, Erin Mcginn and Ella Durkin (Ladies Football)

Aaron McGuire (Hurling)

Donal McKegney, Chris Savage, Odhrán Devlin, Malcolm McFarlane (Mens Football)   Anne Costello (Camogie)   Many of the players were past pupils of Holy Rosary. And our P6 teacher, Miss Murray, was also among the celebrated players.     The following cups were also on display: Football cups: Senior cup and Minor cup Hurling: Senior cup and Minor Shield Camogie: Minor Shield Ladies football: Senior Cup and Minor Cup   The club officers emphasised that "while we are celebrating the silverware we've won recently, the real success of our club can be seen in the well-rounded young people who have played or are still playing for Bredagh. Most of all we celebrate the many friendships that have been established through our club."   Congratulations Bredagh on this  continuing success!
