Measuring!

Today we linked our Numeracy lesson to our World Around Us topic.  We worked together to measure different parts of our bodies.  We measured our height using a Stadiometer.  We tried to measure our other body parts using metre sticks, measuring tapes and rulers but these were tricky to use.  In the end, we decided to use string.  Working with a partner, we cut he string to the length or circumference of our different body parts then we measured the pieces of string using a ruler.  We even used our rounding skills to record the measurements to the nearest centimetre.  Mrs Cooke showed us how to create graphs using ICT to display the different heights in our class.
