Park Life Visit to Botanic Gardens
Today was our first day in Botanic Gardens working with our Park Life leader, Siobhan. We braved the cold and learnt lots of new and interesting things about sycamore seeds, reasons for different methods of seed dispersal, how to tell what age a tree is and how squirrels hide their nuts. We did a scavenger hunt around Botanic gardens and saw wild mushrooms growing and learnt about different types of leaves, trees and animals. Although we got caught in some wintery showers, we really enjoyed spending time in one of our beautiful local parks and we are very excited about our Spring Visit - hopefully it will be a little bit warmer!
