Primary 4 trip to the War Memorial
Primary 4 recently visited the War Memorial where they learned all about life during World War 2.
Alan and Bill greeted the children and showed them lots of war time photographs and artefacts. The children became detectives as they investigated the museum. They also dressed up in costumes as a Warden, a Red Cross Nurse, a pilot and a medic.
The children are linking the UNCRC to World War 2. Here are some articles displayed in our classroom that link -
Article 7: Right to a name and nationality,
Article 6: Right to be alive,
Article 8: Right to an identity,
Article 18: Right to be raised by your parents if possible,
Article 19: Right to be protected from being hurt,
Article 20: Right to special care if you cannot live with your parents,
Article 38: Right to protection and freedom from war.
